I woke up to a beautiful yellow haze. It showed through the blinds on my window like God himself was saying good morning. When I made it downstairs I saw the yellow haze clung to the mountains and laid cozily upon the landscape. I started the hot water for my daughter ‘s hot chocolate and started getting them dressed to sit outside on our back steps. Before we could get out there I noticed the dark grey color of my wooden steps that let me know even though I couldn’t see it yet, the rain has begun. The classical stylings of Bach filled the living room as I got my daughters and I dressed in long pants, long sleeve shirts and warm socks. We sat out on the front porch with hats, coats, blankets and hot beverages. Just as we sat outside the light rain picked up enough to play a relaxing melody on the ground. The trees around us were red, brown, yellow, and gold; the perfect fall backdrop to the cascade of rain. My toddler dressed in a rain coat and boots played in the rain while I read a book and sipped my coffee. My infant lay in her bouncer taking in the scene. It was a beautiful way to start the morning.
